Lee Finan

I’ve been in radio for 25 years now and still love every minute of it. The North East is my home, and I’ve been here for the past 15 years.
I remember receiving a cassette recorder for my 9th birthday and immediately started interviewing the members of my family. My Nan commented that I could be one of those “Geezers On The Wireless” and that was it – I was hooked from then on, that was my calling so to speak.
I started working for a hospital radio station at the age of 14, and then ran my own mobile disco. I became a Bluecoat at Pontins at 18, then travelled Europe as a nightclub DJ, and eventually moved into radio full time at age 20.

Heights BIG STYLE.. I have to cling on for dear life when I’m up a height….Having said that, I’ve faced the challenges though by abseiling a 300ft building live on air in boxer shorts, I’ve parachuted from 3,000 feet half a dozen times, I’ve flown a Piper Cherokee plane, and I’ve climbed the Sydney Bridge, so I’m not doing too bad huh ?
